Welcome to my Journey!
Welcome to my blog! This blog will allow you to express your feelings and experiences throughout your college life and the real world being; work, work, work and more work! In the fantasy world a college student is someone who goes to school, does not work, dorms and parties. Not everyone has the privilege to live in this fantasy world; some students have to get jobs to pay their way through college. I know for me after I get done with classes I am exhausted and don’t feel like going to work and dealing with more work. I feel like this is going to be a long journey.

I know how you feel! All I do is work and go to school. I have no time for myself or my family. I jump from bed, to school, to work, to homework, to bed, and all over again. I am paying my way through college and if I do not work enough, I can not afford my tuition. At the same time, if I work too much, I cannot succeed in school, i.e. doing homework, getting up in time for class. Either way, I feel stuck. This will all pay off in the end of our college career, though. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteDJ & A. Lauren, I know how you feel. I’m picking up extra hours at work, meaning I work about 20 hours a week or so. I work 14 hours max between Saturday and Sunday and then about 8 hours during the week. It’s tough going to school full time, working part time & needing some sanity by going out with friends towards the end of the week. I take about 15 credits a semester so I’m always exhausted after class and never want to go out and “have fun”. I just want be done with school but at the same time, I don’t want a “real job” yet. Honestly, I’m not the party type of girl so that’s fine with me. This will be worth it at the end our journey when we all have careers and are making something in our lives compared to those who didn’t put much effort into their education.
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow college student and full-time worker I understand your anguish. The description above is all-to-often the way I feel after each day at school. Concluding another difficult day, only to get to work and be informed that my services are needed for another twelve hours. The stress and difficulty of juggling a full schedule make excelling in college, while working, nearly impossible. I look forward to reading your future blogs, and would love to offer you an anecdote if needed.
